sumskate camp has already kicked off and had a great turnout with a lot of smiles and, thankfully, very few falls. We ran 2 Easter camps (you can check out on our other blog), which went great but did not have the summer weather like this one did.
The first half of the camp was breaking the ice between students, figuring out what improvements could be made and learning as many new tricks as possible before the 2nd half of the day (with an intermission for lunch where we all played hide and seek). The 2nd half was focused on games and prizes. This meant splitting the group into 2 (with one group more experienced) and playing a game of S.K.A.T.E, With the winner getting any item from our store that they liked. The first half of the camp really set this up well as all had fresh tricks to try and show in the game with a little bit of experience in doing them (lets just say it got competitive!).
